Decision Matrix
The NewTail  was created to conceal areas on the tail damaged by rubbing,
surgery, etc. Constructed from 100% non-dyed horse tail hair, each individual hair is
attached to the backing matrix utilizing the wig-making technique of tying in each
individual hair. The backing matrix is made from a flexible material which is
color-coded to the tail hair color.

The NewTail is attached to the base of the tail bone by way of a tail wrap, utilizing
hook-and-loop technology. Simply attach the tail wrap and press the NewTail to the
wrap. Brush hair at top of tail down to blend in.

The above pictures illustrate not only how the NewTail covers the six inches of
damage on this mare's tail, but it also fills out the tail, making it thicker!

Standard colors are available. However if your horse's tail contains a unique mixture
of colors, or you need a NewTail extension for a Paint/Pinto horse, we can
accommodate that too. Contact Us for details.
Our extensions are created specifically for each customer. Please allow 2
weeks for delivery.
Attaching the NewTail Horse Tail Extension

1. Comb tail thoroughly.

2. Wrap the elastic portion around the tail snugly, starting about 4 inches down
from where the tail joins the body. Continue wrapping upwards, allowing the
wrap to overlap as you go. Finish the wrap where the tail meets the body, soft
loop side out.

3. Center tail extension, matching top of extension to top of wrap. Press firmly to         
attach, using hands to smooth around sides of tail.

4. Use brush or comb to blend in with tail.

Determining NewTail Size for Damaged Tail

In order to construct your custom NewTail horse tail extension, we require the
following measurement:

Length of Damage (LOD) in inches from the base of the tail (where the tail joins the
body) to the end of the damaged area:
